Ebola a Personal Note

It's been some time since I've posted an update on Black Six. The Ebola outbreak, which emerged last year, has consumed most of my time over the last several months. During my absence from blogging, I have trained with Medicines sans Frontieres. It is an incredible challenge and opportunity to help bring an end to the suffering of EBV patients. MSF graciously allowed me to participate in bio-safety training wherein we reviewed case studies, attended lectures on all aspects of Ebola case management and bio-safety and drilled on putting on and doffing our protective suits. The facilitators were incredible, training us on exactly how to doff our PPE's, perhaps the most important bio-safety lesson I've ever had. It's been incredibly inspiring and humbling to be in touch with many of the worlds foremost experts on Ebola from MIT, DARPA, USAMRIID as well as a host of international biological defence organizations and agencies working to end this outbreak. I am honored to have met so many outstanding scientists and field health workers currently battling EBV and to be asked to advise. The last several months have been personally highly rewarding. I will be posting up-dates on issues related to Ebola more regularly as certain aspects have come under control which allow more time for posting.
